The Society for New Approaches to Photography (SNAP)

SNAP serves the public good by providing basic
educational programs to a wide range of audiences
to increase the ease and effectiveness with which
photography may be used as a communications tool.

As a research and educational organization SNAP
makes grants and provides scholarship support to recognized schools, museums and institutions, to advance the understanding and widespread use of photography.



The purpose of SNAP...

Is to advance the understanding and use of photography:

• As a working tool for a wide range of professionals,  including scientists, creatives, archivists, architects,  journalists and educators.

• In healthcare settings, as part of both the therapeutic  environment and as a form of art therapy for patients  and their families.

• By the general public, to visually document and  preserve the important events of their lives.
